B.C. Govt Invites Express Entry & Skills Immigration Candidates

Canada has increased its immigration targets for 2021 to fulfil its skilled human resource requirements. The Canadian Government has open various pathways and streams for skilled applicants to apply for permanent residence under the Canada Express Entry system, and each province has its Provincial Nominee Program(PNP).

Every province sends an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to applicants based on their individual skills and skill demands of the provinces.  Recently British Columbia (BC) has issued 387 ITAs under its BC PNP skill immigration stream, popularly known as the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP). These invitations were issued under the Canada Express Entry program through BC PNP skill immigration stream.

The Canada Express Entry manages applicant profiles for Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC), Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC) and the Canadian Express Class (CEC). The BCPNP nomination is worth 600 points added to the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of an applicant. These additional 600 points increase an applicant’s chance of receiving an ITA to apply for permanent residence in Canada. BC PNP nominees are required to provide proof of valid job offers from legitimate BC employers.

The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)  provides final decisions on the applications submitted through BCPNP nominations. Applicants are required to create an online profile to apply for Canada immigration using BCPNP’s online registration system. Each candidate is assessed on the basis of various factors such as age, educational qualifications, work experience, and other factors.
