The Canadian job growth in 2018 continues to show signs of bright and healthy Canadian economy According to Statistics Canada, the employment rate has witnessed an increased by 94,100 in November, across industries in mostly full-time jobs, which is considered as the highest ever monthly gains since 1976. The unemployment rate in Canada has dropped from 5.8% to 5.6%. This fact is only one of the factors prospective immigrants should consider in making their decisions to live and work in Canada.
Among the high demand, jobs included the technical services, scientific and professional industry with 26,000 new jobs added. This figure came as a major surprise because economists were only expecting an increase of 10,000 due to the fact that the Canadian economy was faced with difficulties, especially in the oil sector. Even Alberta, an oil-producing province, added 23,700 jobs in November which consequently lowered the unemployment rate.
This report is more likely to eliminate some concerns that the Canadian economy is in the brink of slowing down. Prospective immigrants should also be assured that moving to Canada still promises a brighter future. Jobs in both private and public sectors are available for skilled and professional immigrants thus contributing toward Canadian job growth. This report is also a welcome sign for a foreign skilled worker to apply for a Canada work visa.
