The Atlantic Immigration Pilot is a creative approach to address Prince Edward Island’s labour market challenges.
The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program is an employer-driven federal immigration pilot program designed to help employers fill permanent labour shortages and skill gaps in their business by supporting foreign nationals for permanent residency. There are three different streams which aim to address different needs. The Atlantic High Skilled Program allows to attract highly skilled individuals, the Atlantic Intermediate Skilled Program allows to attract semi-skilled individuals, and the Atlantic International Graduate Program allows to attract recent graduates from Atlantic Canada post-secondary institutions.
Objectives of Immigration Pilot Program
– Ensuring that the Province maintains its unique linguistic balance
– Increased involvement of employer.
Provincial government staff will assist local employers identify, hire and support foreign workers. In turn, successful candidates will be selected for permanent residency by the Federal government.
Employers interested in participating in the Pilot, must meet the following designation criteria:
Pilot Program Pathways
– NOC O, A, B
– NOC C
– Has a 2 year diploma from publicly funded institution In Atlantic Canada
– No work experience required
Foreign National Eligibility Criteria
Job Offer: Permanent full-time job offer
– International graduates who have received a two-year diploma from a publicly funded institution in the Atlantic Provinces would not require work experience.
