Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) allows a work permit holder, whose application for permanent residence in Canada is being processed but his/her work permit is about to expire, to continue working through the “bridging open work permit” (BOWP) program.
If your situation falls under the following conditions, you may be eligible to apply:
have applied for permanent residence
current work permit expires in 4 months or less
have a valid work permit
currently in Canada
